Prophet Yunus (A.S.) left his people without divine permission. While at sea, he was thrown overboard during a storm and swallowed by a great fish. Inside the belly of the whale, he prayed with the famous supplication:
“There is no deity except You; Glory be to You. Indeed, I am among the wrongdoers.”
Allah accepted his repentance and commanded the whale to release him safely.
This story highlights repentance, humility, and divine mercy.
