It is also important to be grateful for the blessings of Allah Almighty. As Allah Almighty has said in the Quran, which translates as, “If you are grateful, I will give you more blessings.”

Whenever the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was presented with a joyful event or made happy, he would fall into prostration and thank Allah Almighty.

It is well known that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to offer long prayers in gratitude (Bukhari and Muslim).
Praying in gratitude was also a habit of the Companions and the great saints. Therefore, when a Muslim receives a blessing or is granted a relief, it is recommended that he offer two rak’ahs of prayer as a sign of gratitude.
